Bowl-a-Thon 2016


The Arc of Alameda County moved its annual Bowl-a-Thon from the traditional Halloween time frame so the event would be part of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.


We’re pretty sure people in Castro Valley were aware and impressed when some 100 clients, family members and Arc staff, descended on Castro Village Bowl on March 13th.


We had lots of  bowlers, lots of spaghetti, lots of strikes, lots of spares, lots of gutter balls and best of all – lots of fun in an inclusive community setting!


Who won??

Taking first place this year was the Davies family led by Justin Davies, a client at our San Leandro campus.  His teammates were Jeff Davies, Pam Davies, Zach Davies and Patricia Silva.


A close second place finish was posted by four clients at our Walpert Campus in Hayward who invited Arc staffer, Hayn Slocum, to join them.  They are:  David Purewal Robert Virgilio, Robert Hulseman, and Tommy Pastore.
